Registration Interviews:
For 2025-2025, Faith Formation staff ask all sixth and ninth grade families a brief registration meeting. Meetings are available over the phone, online, at St. Cecilia or St. Thomas, in your home, or another location of your choice. These meetings are also available to other grades upon request. We are looking forward to meeting you, reviewing the registration option that is best for your child and answering your questions so we are all on the same page! You can register online before your meeting, or after your meeting. Please feel free to read our welcome letters. Thank you!
Families that schedule a registration interview may request to be place with one friend in their small group.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Why are St. Cecilia and St. Thomas Aquinas using one registration site?
- For several years now Saint Cecilia and St Thomas Aquinas parishes in Ames Iowa have operated a joint youth ministry program. At the same time both parishes have conducted their own K through 5th grade Faith Mission programs. After registration for the 2023-20-24 Academic Year opened last summer, many families expressed a desire to have one registration system to simplify the process. Overall, it was frustrating to register one child and pay in one system, and then to need to switch to a second one to register another child and pay there too. Based on this feedback, the Faith Formation staff at both parishes have collaborated to investigate how a joint registration process would be developed and handled. This will ensure that parents only need to visit one site for registration, and will only need to make one payment.
- Why do you need my IP address?
- The Archdiocese of Dubuque requires that we collect your Internet Protocol address to verify the identity of the person filling out the form. An IP Address is used by computers to direct web traffic to the correct piece of hardware, much like a physical address is used to direct mail to the correct house. While it is highly unlikely that a third-party would impersonate you to register for Faith Formation or Youth Ministry programs, it is possible. We ask for your IP address, so that when we combine it with the date and time of your registration, we can be reasonably certain that you are the person registering your child.Because of this, if you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service to re-route your internet traffic; we politely request that you disable it for the time it takes for you to register your children. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our online registration safe and secure.
- How will payment work with the new system?
- You will receive an email invoice at the address used for registration, beginning June 1st 2024. Once invoices are received, they can be paid via cash, check, or credit card using St. Cecilia’s Push Pay System. When families pay via Push Pay, funds will be distributed to the proper accounts at St. Cecilia automatically. Meanwhile, funds destined for St Thomas Aquinas will be deposited into a restricted count at St. Cecilia’s. These funds will be transferred over to St. Thomas after registration has closed. To pay by check or cash please contact St. Cecilia's faith formation office here.
