About Anchor Youth Ministry:
Anchor Youth ministry program is for 6-12th grade students at St. Cecilia and St. Thomas Aquinas. The programs include: middle school (6th-8th grades) EDGE (large group) and small groups; high school (9th-12th grades) small group ministry, Confirmation (9-10th grades), Student Peer Ministry Leadership Team, and Life Teen (large group). Anchors are a biblical symbol of hope. Our program is defined by the dozens of caring adults who lead our programs - the “anchors” who help keep teens secure in their faith.
There is no greater joy than leading people to Christ. Our goal is to bring teenagers and their parents into a deeper relationship with God through community, evangelization, catechesis, prayer, justice and service, advocacy, pastoral care, and leadership development. The role of a youth ministry intern is to assist the Director and Coordinator of Youth Ministries for St. Cecilia and St. Thomas Aquinas. You will gain exciting and hands-on experiences.
Qualifications & Desired Traits:
Dates: September 1, 2023 through May 10, 2024
Weekly Obligation: 2-5 hours per week. Weekly schedule determined upon applicant and based on your academic/spiritual schedule. Check-in via preferred communication with supervisor
Monthly Obligation: Once a month meeting with the Director & Coordinator of Youth Ministry and other college intern to pray, gather together, learn what is happening in Youth Ministry.
Quarterly Obligation: Assist with Confirmation Class from 12:00-2:30 PM on 2nd Sundays November 12, January 14 and February 11.
Compensation: Intern stipend is determined by the job duties required. Most interns receive $450 per semester with payment received in December and May.

Qualifications & Desired Traits:
- Practicing Catholic college student, sophomore or older; who has served in catechetical ministry for at least one semester. Must have the time available to serve in this joyful and rewarding ministry.
- Desire to pursue a career in ministry after college.
- Has the following characteristics- responsibility, accountability, professionalism, time management, attention to detail & tenacity, sense of humor & humility, flexibility
- Eagerness to learn & step outside of comfort zone
- Willingness to go the extra mile to bring teens closer to Christ.
