The Chosen Summer Small Groups
Join us this summer for small group and a show! We'll enjoy friendship, fun, and food while watching an episode every week of The Chosen, a hit TV show about the life of Jesus. Learn more about The Chosen here.
WHO
The Chosen Summer Small Groups are for incoming Middle Schoolers, grades 6-8. The groups will be split between boys and girls.
WHAT
The Chosen is the first-ever multi-season show about Jesus. It is the #1 highest crowd-funded project of all-time at $10 million from over 19,000 people and the show, with its own streaming application, is consistently ranked in the top 50 entertainment apps on ios and android. Only in its second season, The Chosen has already been translated into 50 languages and counting.
WHEN
Most Fridays both the girls and boys groups will meet at the same time but in separate locations from 2-4pm. On June 25th the boys group will meet from 10 AM-12 PM.
Fridays we will meet:
June 18, 25
July 9, 16, 30
August 6, 13, 20
WHERE
The girls group will meet at St. Cecilia Church in the Oscar Romero room all days except Friday, August 20th when they will meet in the St. Louis room. Both rooms can be accessed from the south parking lot.
The boys group will meet at St. Cecilia Church in the St. Francis Library which is located just across the hallway from the east side of the Social Hall.

Meet the Facilitators

Zeke Mientkiewicz is entering his fifth year as Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry at St. Cecilia Church and his eleventh year working in youth development. Zeke grew up in a Navy family moving from Virginia to California before eventually settling near Buffalo, NY. He attended Houghton College and majored in humanities and writing. After college, Zeke worked for several Catholic schools and camps before becoming a youth ministry coordinator. He and his wife Kristin have a one-year old named Grant who they enjoy playing and exploring with. When Grant is napping, Zeke runs, plays tabletop games, and practices optimism by rooting for the Buffalo Bills. Zeke will be facilitating the boys group.

Katie Patrizio is entering her seventh year as Director of Faith Formation at St. Cecilia Church. She oversees lifelong faith formation at the parish with the help of a staff of four. Katie primarily works in adult formation but periodically assists with other ages. She has a special place in her heart for the middle school years since she herself had a profound encounter with Our Lord at that age. Katie will be facilitating the girls group.
